We’re delighted to share some exciting news about one of our forthcoming releases, Dériveville by Christine Donovan—and to unveil its striking new cover.
Set in 1981 Paris, Dériveville follows writer Julia Stanford as she seeks creative renewal while adapting Iris Murdoch’s The Sandcastle for the screen. Drawn into the worlds of French cinema, political memory, and Paris’s nocturnal energy, Julia’s journey takes her from the glamour of the Cannes Film Festival to encounters with the fading echoes of the Situationist International. What begins as a professional opportunity soon becomes a deeply personal exploration of ambition, identity, and artistic freedom in a city that both seduces and unsettles.
Christine Donovan is an International Rubery Book Award–winning author, and her deep engagement with the cultural and political movements that shape Dériveville brings authenticity and richness to the novel. As she continues her research into the women of the Situationist International, this story feels especially timely—layered, intelligent, and alive with ideas.
We’re particularly excited to reveal the new cover image, which captures the novel’s atmosphere perfectly: cinematic, alluring, and just slightly disorientating. It reflects the spirit of Paris, the tension between past and present, and the inner turbulence of a woman on the edge of transformation.
We can’t wait to share more about Dériveville in the coming weeks—and we’re thrilled to finally show you a first glimpse of its new look.
